Composite Design Engineer for Rotors | Clipper Wind Power | Carpinteria, CA
SUMMARY:
This motivated individual will be interacting with internal and external
engineers and technicians to plan and execute multiple projects to
improve existing design, drafting and manufacturing of wind turbine
blades. Additional duties will include the development of standardized
blade repairs and their procedures, oversight of drawings and
specifications, and assistance with blade testing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- BS Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing or related degree.
- Excellent design skills (solid based modeling, preferably ProE,
Windchill, AutoCAD, and/or SolidWorks).
- Experience with CAD/CAM systems.
- Strong project leadership and process improvement skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to
edit and compose report text and correspondence and to present company
information articulately.
- Able to effectively manage multiple activities simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills required.
- Polite, professional manner required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- 5 years minimum experience with composites.
- Knowledge of tooling, production of epoxy and polyester parts, wet
lay-up, vacuum bagging, or infusion is helpful.
- Expert proficiency with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel;
familiarity with Microsoft Project and Access a plus; web-savvy.
